Math PLN to share outcomes in spring 2025

Math Peer Learning Network (PLN) teams from Austin, Del Valle, Lake Travis, and Leander ISDs continue to meet on shared challenges in math pathways as they complete their two-year PLN in spring 2025.

Educators are using qualitative data methods, including empathic interviews with students and staff, root-cause analysis tools like the Five Whys, and process mapping, to uncover areas of improvement. As a result, district teams have now narrowed their focus to:

  • Progressing students from low-income households into advanced math course-taking.
  • Getting meaningful time with teachers to support their work.
  • Securing funding for proven math initiatives.
  • Uncovering how to best support campus leaders when each campus has different math pathway plans.

In January, they will begin testing strategies. We are eager to share the outcomes of their work with all Central Texas partners in the spring. The results are sure to enlighten and inspire. Stay tuned!
