Peer Learning Networks

E3 Alliance Peer Learning Networks (PLN) and Steering Committees are essential to collaborating with the educational alliance in Central Texas.

PLNs are a community of peers with diverse perspectives and experiences who come together to tackle a real-life challenge impacting students, such as math, attendance, postsecondary, or emergent bilingual populations.

PLN teams identify and test data-driven solutions impacting the learning environment. Our goal is to improve student outcomes around a shared challenge across the entire Texas education system.

About Our Process

We bring the research. Our educational partners bring their local data, experience,  and practitioner wisdom.

Together, we analyze the data across campuses, districts, regions, or the state to uncover root cause of the shared challenge. We identify possible strategies and tactics to transform systems that better serve students.

We work collectively to identify promising practices that can scale district or statewide.

About Continuous Improvement

About Continuous Improvement

A cyclical process whereby groups of people in a system set goals, identify ways to improve and evaluate small tests of change. PLNs work to collectively solve problems and share innovations, determine what works, then diffuse these innovations at scale to maximize impact.

Attendance PLN, 2023-2025

Chronic absence rates are still higher than pre-pandemic levels. E3 Alliance is working with attendance staff and professionals to test best practices that improve student attendance, with a particular focus on students from low-income households.

Shared Success Statement

We will know attendance efforts are successful when we use data to address the root causes of chronic absenteeism and remove barriers to reach all students and families to improve attendance through building positive school relationships and experiences.

Many thanks to our participating districts:

  • Austin ISD
  • Hays CISD
  • Manor ISD
  • Pflugerville ISD
  • Seguin ISD

Math PLN

Math PLN, 2023-2025

Senate Bill 2124 increased access to Algebra I in middle school. Now, we are working with math pathway professionals to uncover root cause and remove barriers to students completing a college-aligned math course in high school. We have a particular focus on students of color and students from low-income households.

Shared Success Statement

We will know math pathways are successful when we have built a supportive math community among educators, families, and students that allows the student to receive equitable opportunities and to persist in college and career aligned math pathways without gaps through senior year, and enrollment in these courses aligns with the demographics of the learning organization.

  • Del Valle ISD
  • Lake Travis ISD
  • Leander ISD
  • Lockhart ISD

Emergent Bilingual Steering Committee

Our Emergent Bilinguals (EB) steering committee guides our research and action to uncover the root causes of challenges our Emergent Bilingual students face.

A recent grant allows E3 Alliance to study and identify how the system can better ensure English Learners’ access to advanced classes to prepare them for college and career success.

Shared Success Statement

We will know our emergent bilingual students are successful when students and families feel valued and empowered to self-advocate, participate and perform in advanced classes, and graduate college and career-ready at equivalent rates as their monolingual peers.
