About

Susan Dawson founded E3 Alliance in 2006 in partnership with Austin Community College (ACC), the Austin Area Research Organization (AARO), and the University of Texas at Austin.

At the time, there were no terms or processes to describe how to bring about sustained and meaningful improvements to our education systems.

Rooted in our foundation was the belief that:

• Waiting for state or federal governments to enact improvements would risk losing yet another generation of children. That loss was too costly to our families and our region.
• Only through a common regional agenda and the collaborative efforts of all Central Texas educational stakeholders could we hope to see the dramatic system-wide advancements that would drive student success.
• Initiating these dramatic improvements first requires accurate, objective data on student achievement and a commitment to identify and share effective educational practices.
• The entire Central Texas community needs to be committed to a common agenda and accountable for education outcomes if all children are to reach their full potential.
