Empowering Informed Education Policy: E3 Alliance Receives Grant to Help Bolster Data Systems in Texas

AUSTIN, TX — January 28, 2025 – E3 Alliance is excited to announce a generous grant of $17,500 from the Communities Foundation of Texas. This funding will greatly enhance E3’s dedication to advancing education data systems across Texas, from pre-K through workforce development.
The funding will specifically support E3’s policy engagement efforts focused on enhancing the P20W in Texas, the data system that connects student data from pre-K through college and into the workforce. With this grant, E3 aims to engage with state education agencies, the legislature, and research partnerships such as LONESTARP3 (RP3) to advocate for short- and long-term improvements to existing data systems.
“Good policy is rooted in good research,” said Richard Tagle, president and executive director of E3 Alliance. “This grant will enable us to strengthen our data systems, ensuring that decision-makers have the information they need to design effective educational policies that lead to improved outcomes for all students in Texas.”
As part of this initiative, E3 will collaborate closely with RP3, seeking their support in data-related work to refine and enhance data systems across the education landscape. The objective is to create a cohesive and effective approach to education data that can support students from their early education through their transition into the workforce.
“We believe that reliable data is essential for creating effective education policy,” said Priscilla Flores, senior director of policy. “This grant from the Communities Foundation of Texas will help us advance our mission to ensure that Texas students have access to a high-quality education system.”
