Presented by Sonia Dominguez, Administrative Supervisory, Austin ISD and Dr. Caitlin Hamrock, Senior Research Advisor, E3 Alliance at the 2016 StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network Convening.

In 2014, President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Initiative with the goal of addressing persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensuring that all young people can reach their full potential. The Greater Austin Area My Brother’s Keeper was one of the first groups to take on the MBK challenge and aims to become a national model for boosting academic achievement, enhancing health and well-being and elevating the lifetime prosperity for young boys and men of color.  This presentation outlines both the analytic strategy as well as the initial steps taken by the MBK committees to translate the results of that analysis into action.
