Donor Spotlight: Ali Khataw
E3 Alliance is proud to shine a light on Board Member Ali Khataw, whose leadership and dedication continue to make a big difference in our community. He supports many impactful organizations, including Ascension, KUT, Austin Ed Fund, Honor Flight Austin, Waterloo Greenway, Transit Forward, the Austin Area Research Organization, and, of course, E3 Alliance.
We are thrilled to celebrate Khataw’s recent honor: Philanthropist of the Year, awarded by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Greater Austin on Philanthropy Day, May 7.
For more than eight years, he has brought bold ideas and steady leadership to E3 Alliance and our board of directors. As founder and CEO of Encotech Engineering Consultants, Khataw uses his voice to support education, philanthropy, and community engagement. As a former board chair and current member, he continues to play a key role in moving our mission forward.
“Supporting E3 Alliance has been a deeply rewarding experience,” Khataw expressed. “Their data-driven approach to improving educational outcomes is not only innovative but transformative for our region. I’m proud to be a part of their mission to ensure that every student, from every background, has the opportunity to succeed.”
He also helped launch our signature fundraising event, Geeks in Boots, by serving as the event’s first co-chair. At our 2025 event, Ali Khataw Photography donated a powerful and captivating lion photograph printed on brushed aluminum, which raised several thousand dollars at auction. His company sponsored all four Geeks in Boots events.
Khataw models personal giving, too. He is a proud member of the E3 Legacy Trust, a group of dedicated donors who make multiyear investments to help scale E3’s systems-change work.
His passion for education and community makes Austin a stronger, more connected place. We are deeply grateful for his leadership, generosity, and belief in a brighter future for all Central Texas students.
