A coalition of Central Texas organizations including E3 Alliance joined forces and launched the Make It Movement in the fall. Dedicated to reaching young people while in high school and introducing them to high-demand, high-earning careers, the interactive website engaged more than 25,000 students in the first 40 days after launch. Seventy-four percent said they learned about high-paying jobs in Texas that they are now interested in and did not know about before. Here are a couple more exciting statistics about students’ thoughts after visiting the site:
- 78% said they were more hopeful/confident that after high school they would be making money doing work they would enjoy
- 70% said they would recommend to a friend or colleague
SaulPaul, Global Activation Ambassador for the Make It Movement, is extending the outreach with his roadshow for Youth Career Day and to area schools, including Central Texas partnering districts Austin ISD, Hutto ISD, Pflugerville ISD, and Round Rock ISD, with Elgin ISD on the calendar for February.
