Countdown to Lift Literacy Up

Did you know that students who don’t read well by the third grade are 4 times more likely to drop out of school! In fact, standardized testing in 2019 found that 56% of Texas third graders are not reading at grade level. Sadly, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has created even bigger obstacles in the education system for students.

E3 Alliance is specifically positioned to work with education practitioners across Central Texas to alleviate the literacy challenge students are currently facing. As you consider your end-of-year giving, please join us in the “Countdown to Lift Literacy Up” campaign to launch this work in 2021.

E3 is working deeply with 10 schools across Central Texas to Lift Literacy Up and create stronger systems that ensure every child gets the support they need to read well by third grade and succeed in school. This project supports the work of the Reading Academies while helping schools ensure every child has plan a plan in place to improve in literacy. At E3 Alliance, we work to remove barriers and re-build systems so that all students succeed.
